Interrogative Pronouns

Interrogative pronouns digunakan untuk bertanya. Maka, interrogative pronouns dikenal pula dengan sebutan kata tanya.

INGAT! Whom tepat digunakan sebagai objek kata kerja. Namun, ketika digunakan untuk bertanya jarang digunakan karena native speakers sering menggunakan kata tanya Who daripada whom. (e.g Who did you see? Bukan Whom did you see?)

There’s one car missing. Whose hasn’t arrived?	John’s (car) hasn’t arrived.	subject
We’ve found everyone’s keys. Whose did you find?	I found John’s (keys).	object

Imbuhan ever di belakang kata tanya sehingga menjadi whoever, whatever, whichever, dsb. Menunjukan hal - hal yang cenderung membingungkan atau mengejutkan.

Contoh:

   -   whoever would want to do such a nasty thing?

   -   whatever did he sar to make her cry like that?

   -   they`re all fantastic ! whichever will you choose?
